The Community Website for The Park Ecovillage, Findhorn

Lev Seller

I’m Lev – originally from Aberdeen, not so far away, and I’m one of the few native Scots here at the Foundation, having lived at the community since coming to do my Experience Week in 1989.

I tell folks that I used to live less than 2 hours drive away,  but it took me 40 years to find the place …. We come when the universe decides we are ready to receive our spiritual lessons…!

I’ve worn many hats since my first arrival over 25 years ago, but what most community members know about me, and what I love to do most, is to nurture people with my professional holistic relaxing massage. I am always so moved and grateful to observe the wonderful effects of loving touch achieved by gentle massage, and feel lucky and privileged to be able to share my skills or gifts with my clients and friends.

My philosophy about the holistic approach to healing is that the client and I share 2 hours of our lives together for the duration of the session, and for myself I have learned to expect the unexpected, since that journey has no map and no certain destination , except of course that the person will feel relaxed and mellow after the massage. My intention as a holistic therapist is to heal not only the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual “unseen bodies” with sensitive touch during the massage, and this has been very inspiring for me during my 22 years working professionally.

I am also fortunate to have many opportunities to share my unique healing methods, having been invited to teach my massage seminars not only here in Scotland in Forres, Findhorn and Edinburgh, but also overseas in France , Mexico, the Philippines, and also annually in Japan at the Megamiyama Life Centre near Nagano since 1999.  Passing on the “massage message” to my students is a lovely bonus and an adventure every time. To date, I have been fortunate to work with almost 1600 Japanese clients – so that “Japanese connection” is a major aspect of my healing practice, though I am still very much a beginner in speaking Japanese!

I love so much the people, culture and warm climate of Japan – not to mention the fantastic sushi ! In recent years , I have also taught my “Introduction to the Chakras” seminar in Tokyo and this has been an inspiring addition to the bodywork teachings.

More info about this both in English and Japanese, together with my latest workshop teaching schedule, is on my website at

Another community role I have, is that for many years I have also been serving as Editor of our community Practitioners Directory which I update twice annually with details of approximately 45 qualified therapists working around the Foundation.

A new project started recently, is to offer the guestroom in my house as a B&B space for visitors .

If guests in FF programmes need a place to stay before or after the workshops,   my house is conveniently placed near to both campuses ;   folks usually enjoy to be hosted by someone who has many stories to share about community life, having been a community member for over two decades!

Around the community I can frequently be found at Cluny, where I like to go to the weekly “wider community meditations” on wednesday mornings, and also I frequently enjoy Biodanza sessions in the Cluny Ballroom, or in the Universal Hall at the Park, where another of my passions is 5 Rhythms and Chakra Dance.

I also love riding my mountain-bike in nature, and sometimes on Sunday mornings I enjoy to play football with other men from the community on the Findhorn Village pitch – though normally our enthusiasm is more obvious than our skill levels , but having fun is more important than the final score !

I have been involved in Mens Groups here for around 20 years, and the meetings and time spent in nature with other men seeking to evolve on the spiritual path, acknowledging our wounded parts, sharing our challenges, and celebrating our masculinity with sensitivity has been for me one of the greatest gifts of life at the community.
