The Community Website for The Park Ecovillage, Findhorn

Find affordable housing in the Park

Although the community has a shortage of affordable, eco-friendly housing, various housing support opportunities are available from time to time. Please keep an eye on community announcements.

Ekopia Social Investments Ltd has a Land and Housing Trust, and offers plenty of useful info.

When housing becomes available, allocations are made based on certain criteria, including:

  • Length of service to the community
  • Financial circumstances

You can download the full Allocations policy here – go to FAQs, ‘Who is eligible to apply for affordable housing’.

Each cluster of housing has its own Housing Support Policy, which sits under this allocations policy and covers what type of housing support is available.

To apply, complete the application form in that specific Housing Support Policy and submit it to the landlord, along with the required information (which will include financial circumstances and references).

The landlord will do an initial screening before the application goes to the Land & Housing Trust Committee, and to the Community Care Circle if a health and care needs assessment is necessary.
